Treatment Guidelines

The AANA recommends a minimum of 30 days in an inpatient treatment program.  Treatment is biphasic and consists of acute detoxification and long term maintenance and recovery.  Treatment of chemical dependence is based upon the recovery model of Alcoholic Anonymous.  Facilities that specialize in the treatment of chemical dependence for health care providers are The Farley Center in Williamsburg, VA and Talbot Recovery Center in Georgia.  Facilities located in NC are as follows:
