Veteran CRNA Stories: From the Front Line to the HomefrontThis series of articles features certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) who have served their country in the military and are now serving patients in our communities. These CRNAs are members of the North Carolina Association of Nurse Anesthetists (NCANA). Their compelling stories are a way to acknowledge with gratitude what they’ve given to our country, our state and association. North Carolina once led the nation in nursing as the first state to have a nurse’s association that licensed its members in the 1800s. Today, state laws need to be modernized to allow CRNAs to practice to the fullest extent of their education, training and competency. Please click on the Veteran CRNA’s name below to read their story. Check back to this page as we add more stories highlighting these heroes.
